At around age 50, Charles G. Myers was refused service in the U. S. Navy.  Living on 110 John Street, Charles G. Myers joined the Canadian Army.

At age 50 in 1918, he was 11 years past an average person’s life span for the times.  Although many lived to be old, the war and the scourge of the Spanish Influenza brought the average person’s life span down to only 39 years old.
